During the course of our lives we experience many joys and hardships, and along with them the full range of human emotions. Each moment and feeling is an opportunity to better understand self, other, and the world. Your painful feelings may be signals that old wounds need to be attended to, or that your truth is not being lived fully. If you are currently struggling to cope with life challenges, are feeling unfulfilled, or want to seek personal growth, the therapeutic relationship can provide an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore the body and mind in a safe, comfortable space.

I work with adults and couples impacted by childhood trauma, intrusive thoughts, anxiety and panic, relationship issues, codependency, identity confusion, low self esteem, and grief/loss. I believe therapy is useful for everyone, whether you are struggling to cope with general life stressors or want to work on becoming your best self. I also provide business coaching for new therapists and other wellness providers.

I discovered early in my career that traditional talk therapy doesn’t work best for everyone. I draw on ancient practices, Eastern medicine and evidence-based research to awaken your innate healing potential. In our work together we will utilize a variety of modalities such as mindfulness, hypnotherapy, IFS, EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, NLP and DBT. My certifications include Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Clinical Trauma Provider, and Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hour). If you’re ready to try something different from traditional psychotherapy, I may be a great fit for you! Request an appointment with Aimee

Master’s Level Intern Therapist

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I appreciate you being here. I understand the courage and strength it takes to take these first steps in your mental health journey. Let me tell you a little about myself to see if I would be the best fit to work with you.

I am currently in my third year as a graduate student at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology working towards my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My journey to become a mental health counselor has hardly been a straight line. I got my B.F.A in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013 and then lived in both Chicago and Los Angeles performing improv comedy and writing sketches while having survival jobs as well. Juggling all of that while also having fibromyalgia proved to be unsustainable, and I was getting burnt out on the toxicity of the entertainment industry. After my health worsened, I took about a year to soul search and work on myself. It was then that I had the epiphany to become a mental health counselor. I now find myself in Atlanta with my two rescue dogs, Podrick and Tarly, nearing the end of my graduate degree program and can now start answering the call I heard all those years ago.

I’d like to apply the use of humor, improv, and theater exercises appropriately and safely in my counseling work. I’m also a Certified ADHD Life Coach and can help by using Solution-Focused Therapy to help you accomplish your long-term goals. I take a person-centered approach to counseling and am looking forward to hearing from, and working with, the person that is the expert in their own life: you!

Are you looking to explore the internal depths of your psyche? Are you interested in connecting with your inner child? If you are, then I commend you for your courage and strength. The therapeutic alliance is the bedrock for self-discovery and healing, and through a warm and understating environment, I look forward to helping you find the parts within that need help processing stored pain and energy.

I’m currently a student at Valdosta State University working toward my Masters in Social Work. I am under supervision and direction through university and GPCG. The work of therapy is hard work yet rewarding, and you are not alone! Let’s chat and see if I’d be a good fit for you!

We all face moments (or months!) that test our foundations. At times, we encounter situations that are confusing, overwhelming, disappointing, frustrating, or painful. We find ourselves struggling. But there's good news: we don't have to navigate these situations alone. I am a therapist who will join you on the journey. You and I will work closely together to form a comfortable and collaborative therapeutic relationship in which exploration, learning, and healing can occur.

My clients are adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who want support in making some changes. Perhaps you've been depressed, lonely, or down on yourself. Maybe you're plagued by perfectionism, anxiety, or worry. Or you're struggling in your relationships and with family. We can work on these issues, and I'll be by your side as you move through the challenges.

As a therapist - and as a person - my philosophy stems from the strengths perspective; I believe that we all have inner strengths that can be accessed and utilized to guide healing. I employ evidence-based and ethical practices in my psychotherapy. I love this work; I love bearing witness to my clients' growth and self-discovery. So: let's talk. Reach out.

The decision to find a therapist signifies courage, strength and hope. The difficult seasons in our lives can leave us feeling overwhelmed, sad, discouraged and alone. My approach is open-minded, strength-based and holistic. I believe in the true healing power of connection, guidance and tangible strategies, as I help you rediscover and optimize your authentic self. You deserve happiness. "The path to healing starts with the symbolism of the still pond. It is only when our mind, like the water, is free of turbulence that we can see the true reflection and recognize that we are not ugly ducklings but swans." (Dr. Bernie S. Siegel)

I’ll walk alongside you as you navigate relationships, stress, depression, anxiety, pregnancy/parenting, work/life balance, illness, change and loss. I utilize mindfulness and address mind, body and spirit. My niche areas are Highly Sensitive People (HSP), creatives, giftedness/2e, Lyme Disease, PANS/PANDAS, autoimmune illnesses and mold/other sensitivities.

Let’s chat to see if we’d be a good fit. It’s important that you feel safe and comfortable being yourself. I think you’ll find that I’m accepting, down-to-earth, kind and compassionate. Do you find yourself wishing your relationships with others were deeper? Do you crave intimacy, to feel known, listened to, and valued? In our world today, this deep sense of connection can be difficult to attain. As a therapist, I prioritize relationship, offer therapeutic connection, and facilitate intrapersonal and relational growth. I work with individuals to explore identity, sexuality, and the difficulties that may come along with attempting to know oneself deeply and live authentically. These difficulties may manifest in the form of anxiety, depression, grief, coping skills that no longer serve you, or relationship conflict.

My therapeutic style and approach is rooted in the belief that in everything, people are searching for connection—to themselves, with others, and to their environment—and my practice is deeply informed by attachment theory.

A specialty of my practice is working with queer experience and identity—lesbian, gay and bisexual folks, and those who identify as trans, nonbinary, or asexual/aromantic. Growing up and moving through the world as queer is unique and sacred. It is an experience that shapes us differently and deserves distinctive space to be held.

In my office, you’ll be able to find comfort, space, trust, and relief. You’ll be able to create a new relationship with yourself, your body, and your loved ones. I’ll be right there with you through the process and work of healing. It’s not easy, but it is worth it, and you don’t have to do it alone.

I am a Licensed Social Worker who believes in the power of the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

My approach is holistic; I incorporate movement therapy, hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, meditation, breathwork, Internal Family Systems, and more with a clear intention of supporting you through your healing.

Whether we meet virtually or online, I create an inviting, safe space for all my clients to feel as much ease as possible. My active listening and empathic skills leave others feeling heard and validated, and I am not the kind of therapist who will only nod and listen. I like to challenge and call out unhealthy behaviors and patterns (in the most gentle way). My clients have shared an appreciation for this because it brings them accountability, growth, and clarity.

I help my clients find their inner strength, inner wisdom, and inner voice.

Whether your voice has been muted by childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low-esteem, life transitions, negative thoughts, or the like, know that I am here to support you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing counseling for children, adolescents and adults since 1996. I help children and adolescents improve school performance, adjust to big changes such as divorce or death, reduce anxiety, manage anger appropriately and feel better about themselves. I help adults manage stress and anxiety, improve relationships, cope with life transitions (new job, new city, relationships changes) and resolve trauma. Having struggled myself, I have a special interest in helping those experiencing fertility challenges and ADHD. I use a variety of different approaches including play modalities, creative arts therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused treatment, traditional talk therapy, and for those who feel stuck or have unresolved trauma, a brain-body technique known as brainspotting. I try to use humor in sessions as well- I believe there is a place for both laughter and tears in sessions. I have written two books, "How Zac Got His Z's: A Guide to Getting Rid of Nightmares" and most recently, "Don't Be Your Own Bully: A Guide to Recognizing and Defeating the Self-Esteem Stealers that Live in Our Heads". All that being said, while experience and expertise is important, none of this matters if you don't click with your therapist. You can set up a complementary 15 minute consultation here to see if it feels like we are a good fit.

You deserve to feel at home in your body and your relationships. My work focuses on trauma, which also includes the lack of care, love, and acceptance that you should have been provided. I am seeking further continuing education in these areas to ensure I provide the highest possible quality of care.

I’m working toward a master’s degree in social work at the University of New England and am undergoing my generalist-year clinical at GPCG, where my efforts will focus more on behind-the-scenes work including consultations and group development as well as individual counseling. I am curious about you. I want to know your thoughts and feelings, your strengths and struggles. I want to get to hear your story. I see therapy as a journey we take as a team: working together to find the right path to meet your goals. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life stress, or maybe just want to give therapy a try, I’d love to talk.

I’m originally from Baltimore, Maryland and have been living in Georgia since the early 2000s. I have an undergrad degree in film, and believe strongly in the power of stories to connect us to not only the world around us, but to deeper understandings of who we are. After school, I spent 6 years helping run an architecture and urban development firm. It was during this time when I became extremely ill, and ended up requiring a kidney transplant. My road to recovery was long and difficult, but I was overwhelmed by the love and kindness given to me by others. Once I was deemed healthy to return to work, I became determined to pay that generosity forward and refocus my life on helping others. I worked as a crisis counselor for over a year and I am in my third year in the Masters’ Program from the College of William & Mary in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Certified Trauma Provider through Evergreen Certifications.

I know the decision to ask for help is a hard one, and I thank you for even considering this first step. If you make the choice to reach out, know that I am here to listen to you. I feel strongly there is not one path for all to find their way to wellness, so our goal is to find the unique fit for you. I have interest and education in multiple evidence-based theories, but find particular power in narrative theory, person-centered, IFS and CBT.
